Sioux Falls, SD – This holiday season, Memorial Middle School (MMS) is inviting students, staff, and families to come together and "grow their hearts three sizes" during our annual Grinchy Giving Week. Running from Monday, December 1, through Friday, December 5, this spirit week combines festive dress-up days with a donation drive to support families within our own Mustang community.
The goal of the campaign is to fill our MMS C.A.R.E.S. Baskets. These baskets provide essential food, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies to MMS families who may need extra support during the holidays. This initiative directly reflects our Core Value of Community, reminding us all of the importance of "Taking Care of Others."

How to Participate
Each day of the week features a specific "Whoville" or "Grinch" theme for dress-up, paired with a requested category of donation items. Students are encouraged to drop items off at designated locations within the school.
The Weekly Schedule:
Monday, Dec. 1: "Mount Crumpit Meal Starter Monday"
Dress Up: Wear Grinch Green 💚
Donate: Canned vegetables, boxed potatoes or rice mixes, dry pasta, and shelf-stable pasta sauce (no glass containers).
Tuesday, Dec. 2: "Grinch’s Cozy Comfort Tuesday"
Dress Up: Cozy Whoville attire (PJs/Comfy clothes)
Donate: Canned soups/stews, instant noodles, microwaveable meals, mac & cheese cups.
Wednesday, Dec. 3: "Whoville Wipe-Down Wednesday"
Dress Up: Whoville gear or favorite team jersey (The Grinch is highly competitive!)
Donate: All-purpose cleaner, disinfectant wipes/spray, sponges, scrub brushes, paper towels.
Thursday, Dec. 4: "Grinch’s Good Hygiene Thursday"
Dress Up: Dress as a Whoville Hero or a kindness-fighting Grinch
Donate: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, bar soap, deodorant, toilet paper, facial tissue.
Friday, Dec. 5: "Feast with the Whos Friday"
Dress Up: Ugly Holiday Sweaters
Donate: Snacks such as granola bars, popcorn, crackers, fruit cups, or packaged holiday treats.
Please note: For safety reasons, masks and face paint are not allowed on dress-up days.
Other Ways to Support
We understand that not everyone can shop for physical items. Families who prefer to support the project financially may do so through the Memorial Mustang Club PayPal account. 100% of these funds will be used to purchase necessary items that are not collected in sufficient quantities during the drive.
