HAPPY MONDAY, and welcome back to another great week of learning!
This week, we are learning the skills of Disagreeing Appropriately.
WHY DO WE WANT TO USE THESE STEPS WHEN WE DISAGREE WITH OTHERS?
When we disagree using these steps,
You are more likely to be heard.
Your point of view is more likely to be considered/heard.
People may see you as more mature.
You will likely avoid negative outcomes like an argument.
Others may be more willing to negotiate with you.
Remember to use 🦅Eagle Way, Everyday!🦅

🥳HAPPY FRIDAY🥳
Yesterday, our 4th and 5th grade students went on a fieldtrip to the Washington Pavillion! They got to witness the multimedia adventure "Call of the Wild". This classic story telling with projected Illustrations, tell the story of Buck.
Buck is a crossbred offspring of a St. Bernard and a Scottish Collie. He was kidnapped from his California home to work as a sled dog during the great Klondike Gold Rush!
We hoped all of our 4th and 5th grade enjoyed this experience!

Happy Wednesday, and National 'Winnie the Pooh' day!
We hope you all had a wonderful 4 day weekend, with lots of rest and play time!
❓️Did You Know❓️
Our favorite little red shirt, honey-loving bear was originally created in 1926?! That was around 96 years ago!! (Do you know anybody that was born in 1926?) Although there are many other sweet characters in the 'Winnie the Pooh' universe, Pooh Bear will alway be the fan favorite! 🍯 🐻 🐷 🐯

❄️HAPPY FRIDAY SBA FAMILIES!❄️
Hope you all had a WONDERFUL winter break! And an extra 2 days off! How fun!
Here are some cool things we discovered leading up to break!
❄️One of our school bus drivers was replaced by Santa!🎅🏼
❄️Classes during gym played some reindeer games!🦌
❄️All of our classes had our awesome winter party!

SFSD schools start 2-hrs late Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Due to the amount of snow that fell with this winter storm and the time it will take for plows to get into residential neighborhoods, there will be No School, no practices and no activities tomorrow – Wednesday, January 4, 2023. District and school offices will be open.

In addition to there being NO SCHOOL today, an update now includes that SFSD Offices will also be closed on Tuesday, Jan 3, 2023.

WOW!! We can't believe it is already the end of our 2022 school semester! Our Staff here at SBA are so proud of each and every one of our students! You guys showed great EAGLE WAY, EVERYDAY!!
Here are some important dates to look forward too!
Dec. 22nd - Jan. 2nd ~ Winter Break: No School
See you back at school on January 3, 2023!
Have a great break!

Last week, SBA staff got together after school, and created these wonderful gingerbread houses! During the students library time, they are able to vote on their favorite ones! We had so much fun making these! And hope you all enjoy!!

We BELIEVE you CAN do your best on the test SBA students!
Susan B. Students,
We are so proud of your focus last week on the reading MAP test. This week you will take the math MAP test, and we know you will show the EAGLE WAY of being RESPONSIBLE by doing your very best and being RESPECTFUL by helping keep a quiet learning environment so our friends can focus on doing their best!
We are proud of you SBA students!
Mr. Sheets and Mrs. Pesicka

Happy Monday SBA parents and guardians!!! We hope you all had a wonderful snowy weekend! Some things to remember for this week: Please have your children bring snowpants, boots, hats, gloves and a coat for recess! If your child does not have boots and snowpants, they can not play in the snow! Also, please practice with your child in dressing themselves for recess! The quicker they can get their stuff on, the quicker they can get to recess!
Which ties into our SKILLS OF THE WEEK!
Why do we want to stay on task?
When we stay on task, we are more likely to complete the assignment or MAP test.
When we stay on task, we are more likely to be focused and get the right answer.
When we stay on task, we are less likely to distract others who are testing.
EAGLE WAY EVERYDAY

Winter Recess Expectations ~ The EAGLE WAY
We will go outside unless the temperature or wind chill is below 0 degrees. Please bring your winter coat, hat, and gloves each day!
Be Safe
Stay off the icy areas
Stay out of the water areas when snow is melting
Be Respectful
All snow remains on the ground
Be Responsible
Boots AND snow pants are required to play in the snowy areas
Be Kind
Let others build with the snow, be helpful or play somewhere else
At home, please help your child in learning ways to get dressed quickly and quietly, so that they can get outside on time!

ROCK THE TEST!
This week and next week you you will have the opportunity to DO YOUR BEST! You will show how much you have learned and grown in your reading and math learning when you ROCK your Winter MAP Assessment.
We know you have been working hard. We know you can focus on the task. We know you will do your best. We are PROUD of all of you!
Mr. Sheets and Mrs. Pesicka

Why do we need to stay on task?
You are more likely to complete your assignment or MAP test.
You are less likely to disturb others around you taking the test.
When you stay on task you are more likely to get the right answer because you don't lose focus.
