Did you hear about our last Welcome Wednesday? It was Mascot Day! Students were greeted at the door by mascots from USF, Augustana, Prairie Farms, the Sioux Falls Canaries, and our very own Terry the Eagle!
Shout out to our attendance liaison Rochelle for putting together fun activities throughout the year for our students to celebrate improving attendance! This year, students participated in inflatable races, duct taping staff to a wall, basketball activities, fishing, and so much more! Thank you to our parents/guardians for helping get students to school. We have improved our attendance this year at Terry Redlin!
Congratulations to our 5th grade students who earned awards in academics, attendance, specials, and achievement. We are proud of our 5th graders!
Students with perfect attendance had fun on Friday duct taping Miss Ashley, school lead clerical, and Mrs. Hansen, 3rd grade teacher to the wall! This was part of our fishing challenge for the 4th quarter so students also enjoyed a snack of gummy worms and goldfish! Miss Ashley and Mrs. Hansen had to wiggle their way out of the duct tape when it was all done! Way to go students and congratulations for your outstanding attendance!
UPDATE: It is a little chilly out today for a dunk tank at Terry Redlin to celebrate students with perfect attendance. Instead, we are going to duct tape a couple of staff members to the wall! Parents/Guardians who were planning on attending the dunk tank can still come to the lunchroom this afternoon. Here is the schedule: 1:30pm (Grades 1, 4, 5); 1:55pm (Snack for all students with perfect attendance); 2:05pm (Grades K, 2, and 3). We will also share pictures on Facebook!
Our students in RISE put on an amazing concert yesterday! Students sang songs, danced, and played instruments. Thank you to our students for the outstanding performance! We also want to say thank you to our music teacher, Mr. Jame, all of the classroom teachers and EAs for their support!
We have something special growing at Terry Redlin Elementary! The CLC has partnered with Groundworks to start a garden! Groundworks is a non-profit that helps facilitate gardens in community spaces. We can't wait to share more about our garden in the future!

We are starting a PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) at Terry Redlin Elementary in Sioux Falls, SD. We are fundraising to be able to host and financially support student activities and recognition events at our school as well as sponsor appreciation events for our teachers and staff throughout the 2025-2026 school year. Starting a PTO at Terry Redlin will provide our students with more opportunities to learn and grow. We appreciate your support in this endeavor!

The Sioux Falls School District has announced the Summer Meals Program will run from Thursday, May 29th through Friday, August 8th. Meals will be served Monday through Friday including breakfast and lunch. The meals are FREE for all children ages 1-18. There are several locations throughout the summer including Terry Redlin Elementary!
Mr. Jame brought his 3rd grade music class and learning outside! The students had a blast soaking in the sun and playing with the giant parachute!

Mrs. Saavedra's 4th graders caught a few fish on Friday as they traveled to the Outdoor Campus to celebrate their outstanding attendance over the last two weeks! Way to go!
