Congratulations to our October Student of the Month and Whittier Way winners! Students are nominated for #WhittierWay by bringing their best self to school and working hard in class. Student of the Month nominees are recognized for their persistence at school by asking questions in class and trying new and difficult things.



There's another chance to learn more about the Jefferson HS PBL Academy TONIGHT from 5-6:30 PM. Project Based Learning offers students hands-on opportunities to solve real-world problems in a variety of group settings with wide-ranging peer groups. Scan the QR code for more info!



Rainy Day Coffee Co. and their retro Coffee Truck, Lucille, camped out at Whittier Middle School this morning. Thank you Rainy Day Coffee Co. for providing staff with a treat on this chilly November morning!


Last week, our 8th grade Volleyball teams went to battle against Whittier Staff in the Volleyball Showdown. 🏐 While staff won both the A & B games, C/D team students won their game. Thanks to everyone who showed up to witness this epic competition and support Student Council!






Whittier Band students in 6th-8th grades were able to visit Washington and Lincoln High Schools for their Indoor Marching Band performances. Students had a blast seeing the high school students perform and asking questions about their band experiences. 🎺🎵 Thank you, WHS & LHS!





We have a short and musical week coming up, Whittier! ♪♫ Kicking off the week with choir and then on to the band concert on Thursday. No school on Friday for Veterans' Day, so be sure you meet the deadlines for Student Council and Wrestling before the long weekend!


YMCA Cancellation: The YMCA After School Program will be ‘suspended’ after today. We will announce when it will resume again. The 5:30pm Activities Bus from Whittier will still run for student athletes, Homework Help, and other students participating in a Whittier activity.


SFSD's new Canvas platform allows students and families to access school assignments and homework anytime, anywhere. When winter weather can be predicted, students and staff will take devices home to continue their learning. Are you prepared? Check out the guidance BEFORE you need it!


Time to highlight another creative classroom at Whittier! Mrs. Ibis' PRIDE students have learned new games and social skills by inviting other PRIDE groups to their classroom on Fridays. Making new friends while learning makes for a fun end to the week!

Today's 8th Grade Football Game vs. Harrisburg East MS has been rescheduled to Thursday, November 2nd. The game will take place on Thursday from 4:15 - 7:15 pm at Washington HS.


On Friday, Whittier WEB Leaders visited City Hall to meet Mayor Paul TenHaken and several department heads. WEB Leaders are 8th grade students who act as leaders to assist 6th grade students in adapting to middle school.
