#ThrowbackThursday -- 8th graders traveled for a field trip to SDSU Day at the Washington Pavillion on Friday, September 20th. SDSU Day brings the university to Sioux Falls for hands-on activities that inspire curiosity and connect people with science, art, and innovation! Whittier students were able to explore multiple departments from SDSU and learn what it means to be a Jackrabbit. #WhittierInTheWild

In 7th grade Science class, students learn about the impact humans can have on the storm drainage system. To continue this study, students could elect to use PRIDE class time to participate in the Downtown Storm Drain Art Project. Five students in Ms. Miller's science classes submitted artwork to the City of Sioux Falls. Sophia's artwork, "Bee Kind," was chosen, and this summer she painted the storm drain at the corner of 6th and Indiana. #WhittierPride
